In 1953 Ein Hod Artists Village was established, and sixty years later the village devoted an entire year celebrating its birthday. The celebrations began with a music event held during Sukkot 2013, together with the opening of a new garden at the entrance to the village – Gan Yemini. At that event the artist Dam Chamizer also unveiled his riddle “Treasure of the Sixtieth Year,” that accompanied the village for an entire year until its solution.
Within the framework of the celebration exhibits were present in the village’s central gallery and parties and small events were held. The climax was a final closing ceremony upon which members toiled for months in production, writing, composing, rehearsing, direction, costume design, music, set design, and more.
We thank each and every person who participated in and worked on the events that took place in the village during that year.
