Silver Print Gallery and Archive
“My desire for this gallery has always been the same – to create a space for arousing an awareness of Israeli photography, as a pleasure, as a fine art, and as a collectible.”

The Silver Print Gallery is an extension of Vivienne Silver-Brody’s research and curatorial activities which have included guest-curating for the following exhibitions:
Captive in a Dream , the Israel Museum, Jerusalem, 1987; Mood and Movement at the Ramat Gan Museum of Israeli Art, 1987; The Lure of Petra, Gymnasia Herzliya goes to Petra, 1929 , photographs by Avraham Soskin, and Neil Folberg’s colour photographs In a Desert Land at the Silver Print Gallery, then in Jerusalem, 1989; Forty Years of Photo Journalism in Israel , curated for the Vision Gallery in San Francisco, 1990.

Documentors of the Dream, Jewish Pioneer Photographers in the Land of Israel, 1890-1933 was published in 1998 by the Magnes Press of the Hebrew University, Jerusalem and the Jewish Publication Society, Philadelphia. (Book available for sale.)

To end the millennium Vivienne curated From Mirror to Memory, One Hundred Years of Photography in the Land of Israel, 1900-2000 , Mane Katz Museum Haifa. (Catalogue available for sale.)

The Silver Print Gallery deals in nineteenth and twentieth century local photography, specializing in building collections and bringing to potential collectors a wide knowledge of local photography. The collection is also valuable as an archive which may be consulted for publication purposes.

The gallery is open when Vivienne is there working, or by appointment. Visitors are invited to enjoy the small library on Israeli photography.
