THE JAPANESE EXPERIENCE

Peace in a tea bowl
Tea Ceremony is a meditative tea gathering that evolved in Japan through the practice of Zen Buddhism and offers a glimpse into the profound art of pottery, calligraphy and flower arrangement -“Chabana”.
The relations of host and guest are based on mutual respect and harmony.
Tea ceremony is an appreciation of beauty in nature and craftsmanship and an opportunity to find inner peace within oneself and together with others as well.

Shir Yamaguchi studied Tea ceremony in 1987 in a Zen monastery in Japan and continued her studies in Ura Senke school in Kyoto.
She offers tea ceremony in the Japanese room in her house in Ein-Hod for groups and explains about the philosophy and art of tea ceremony accompanied by slides.
Participants will be guided how to take part in the tea ceremony.

The introduction and tea ceremony is one hour.
