After a two months long visit in Ein Hod Barbara returned to Dusseldorf. During her stay in Ein Hod she lived and worked in Nora Kubi House, was a guest in the village at holiday events, toured throughout Israel and its beaches and prepared a series of sketches from her impressions. The sketches serve as a diary, the drawings instead of words.
Asked why she did not take photographs, she replied that photography is an act that cannot adequately express feeling or the true and direct influence that the seen has upon the artist. Upon her return to the studio she began, from her sketches, to turn to her body of work.
